About Cynthia McIntyre Photography
My mantra goes something like this – listen to your heart and follow your dreams. Therefore, after a successful (and boring) career in healthcare, I followed my heart and began an intensive study of photography. I have been fortunate to be trained by some of the best photographers in the world. From an early age I wanted to be a photographer but simply could not find the path. However, once I became determined to listen to my heart and follow my dreams, I clearly saw the path before me! To say I love photography is an understatement- my heart sings every time I push the shutter! I sometimes gasp in amazement at the beautiful images I create by bringing out the best in my client. One of my greatest talents is my ability to get nervous clients to relax in front of the camera. When I work with editorial, corporate or commercial assignments, I take a sometimes vague ideas and bring an abundance of creativity to the project to the amazement of my client. My work ethic is simple- tell me what you need and when you need it. I will complete your project on time, within budget and exceed your expectations!
One of my pet peeves is poor quality customer service. My clients come first (period). Therefore, I return calls and emails within twenty four hours. I respect my clients and turn OFF my cell phone during a session. I will not put you on hold to take another call because YOU are the most important person in the world if I am currently talking with you (in person or on the phone). I use my cell phone as a way for my clients to contact me before a session if they are going to be late or need directions. Any other time the best way to contact me is via my office number 203-364-1592. My email is info@cynthiamcintyre.com. I monitor my emails and voice mails regularly so I am easily accessible to current and future clients. I offer a no risk guarantee in that if you are not pleased with your portraits, albums, etc. I will do what I need to achieve your satisfaction- at no cost to you. No arguments. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder- what matters is how YOU see the portrait. If you are not pleased with the portrait, we will make it right.
I have an appreciation for the craft and technical aspects of photography and am constantly challenging myself to try new lighting techniques and photographic styles. I consider myself a headshot photographer. While I am talented at all types of photography, I have selected to specialize in creating headshots for business and actors. I have found that headshots are actually the hardest kind of photography. Perhaps that is one of the main reasons I like it- the challenge! Regardless of the type of photography, I believe a session should be fun. One of the best compliments I can receive is hearing the clients say “that was fun” as they walk away from a session with me.
The loves of my life include my wonderfully patient and supportive husband of 39 years, my gifted son and his adorable wife and my brilliant daughter and her talented husband. Of course I cannot forget my two cute and cuddly Yorkies; Bailey and Chelsea.
My mantra….
Listen to your heart, follow your dreams,
And let no one tell you what you’re capable of.
Push the limits, bend the rules,
And enjoy every minute of it.
Laugh at everything,
Live for as long as you can.
Love all, but trust few.
Believe in yourself, and never lose faith in others
Settle for nothing but the best,
And give 110% in everything you do.
Life is a gift, live Life to its fullest,
And have a reason for everything -even if it’s totally insane.
Find YOUR purpose in life, and LIVE it!

Re-takes
Cynthia McIntyre reviews the images with each client after his/her portrait session to ensure the satisfaction of the client with the images she created. Consequently, if it is necessary to take additional images to obtain acceptable images she will take additional images at that time. A client does not leave her studio until Cynthia has received confirmation from the client that the images are acceptable. No files are delivered to the client until the client provides written notification of their acceptance. Therefore, free retakes cannot be provided after delivery of the files to the client. Retakes MUST be requested within 7 days of your portrait session. Retakes requested after that period of time will be required to pay the session fee of $150.
Detailed info is provided to each client prior to their session with recommendations regarding clothing and how to prepare for your headshot session. These recommendations are based on Cynthia’s extensive experience in creating business headshots. If a client does not follow these recommendations and consequently finds the headshots to be unacceptable, an additional session fee will be charged.
Re-take guidelines:
A re-take must be requested within 7 days of the portrait session. There are no exceptions.
If a retake is requested because the client did not follow the clothing and preparation guidelines, a second session fee of $150 will be charged.
